Sopranos Season 3

The third season of the series was premiered on March 4, 2001. Just like the first two seasons the third season too had thirteen episodes in it. The third season of the series opens where the last episode of the previous season had ended. Two informant of the FBI get killed and they decide to put the Soprano residence under surveillance, but soon their plans are erupted when the house’s plumbing ruptures. Meadow gets admission in a college at Columbia University, while A.J. continues to be a trouble at school. On the other hand, Tony meets up Patsy Parisi, twin brother of Philly ‘Spoons’ Parisi whom Tony ordered Gigi Cestone to kill at the beginning of Season Two. Tony tries to convince him that he was not behind his brother’s death but Patsy already knows the truth and he will take his revenge, the thing that he has come for. In the next episode of the series, Tony gets another anxiety attack when he learns that his daughter is going around with a Jewish African-American, Noah Tannenbaum. Racial ties begin to run in his head. On the other hand, The FBI wants that Livia should give a testimony against his son. But before she could do that she suddenly dies of a stroke. The family plans for her funeral, but Janice says that she won’t be coming. Tony then convinces her that no one can catch her at the funeral for killing Richie. Finally, she agrees to come, and while she is there she asks for her share of inheritance. In the next episode, Tony once again is visiting Dr. Melfi for sessions because of anxiety attacks. This time Tony tells her some of very prominent incidents from his childhood that might be a reason for the attacks. Christopher is completely not in his senses and is turning into a mad man. At school, A.J. is finally doing well after he becomes a part of the freshman football team, but unfortunately he passes out at a practice session after becoming defensive captain. And Meadow confronts his father on his reaction at her new boyfriend.

In the next episode, Dr. Melfi is attacked, beaten and raped at a parking lot. She later comes to know that her attacker was apprehended by the police but later released because of Bureaucratic connections. She later realizes that she can get justice if she talks to Tony about the same, but drops her plan. Tony once again visits her for session but this time Dr. Melfi asks him to get his wife Carmela along with him to his sessions for a new perspective on his progress. On the other hand, Ralph Cifaretto defies Tony’s orders and starts introducing Jackie Aprile, Jr. to members of the family business, much to his dismay. In the next episode, as planned Tony gets Carmela to Dr. Melfi for the next session, but it turned out to be a very unpleasant one. Uncle junior comes to know that he is having cancer and he shares the news with Tony. Meadow relationship with her father is about to become better and it turns out that she unknowingly done a grand favor to him.

In the next episode of the series, Meadow and Noah’s relationship was going very intense when at the same moment problems start brewing between them because of Meadow’s roommate. On the other hand, one of the dancers at the Bada Bing tells Tony that she is pregnant with Ralph’s child. Tony then gets into a bad fight with Ralph when Ralph goes ahead and kills the girl. Tony finds out that he is quite depressed with the death of Tracee. In the next episode, Uncle Junior undergoes a surgery in order to remove his stomach cancer and the operation turns out to be a successful one. But Tony gets worried with the quality of Junior’s cancer treatment. On the other hand, Carmela decides to pay a visit to Dr.Melfi who suggests that she should visit another colleague. The consultant tells Carmela to leave Tony at once when she learns the profession of Tony. Tony is very upset by Pussy’s wife as she just won’t stop borrowing money from them. Carmela is thinking of making a huge donation to Columbia University. Chris gets really mad at Paulie after he continually accuses him of wearing a wire and troubles him with question. In the next episode, Ralph and Tony feud increases to no extent and Tony is forced to ban him from Bada Bing. Ralph feels that he must solve this issue and asks for forgiveness. Meadow begins a serious relationship with Jackie Jr. Meadow then drives his car while drunk and takes it off the road. Tony, on the other hand, is thinking of buying a new car. It’s time for Thanksgiving and Tony does not invite Ralph and Rosalie Aprile, to their Thanksgiving dinner. In the next episode, Carmela is very upset by the fact that her daughter is going around with Jackie Jr. Jackie Jr. tries to cut off from his father’s business much to the dismay of Tony. Most lately Tony is going around with Gloria, and their relationship takes a turn when they visit a zoo. Once again A.J. is in trouble at school when he and his friends vandalize school property, and they are put on probation. It’s Carmela’s birthday and Christopher thinks that by gifting Adriana the ownership of a nightclub, he has pulled her on to his side. In the next episode of the series, as it’s almost the time for the Christmas, Janice offers that she will cook dinner. Tony, on the other hand, comes across an old Santa Claus costume, which reminds him of his Christmas in the year 1995. Bobby Bacala gets chosen to play Santa Claus at Satriale’s annual party.
