Sopranos Season 1

The first season of the series was premiered on January 10, 1999. The first season of the series had thirteen episodes in it. In the first season we get to know about all the major characters of the series. The series opens with Anthony Soprano, a capo (mafia) in the DiMeo crime family. Because the capo is having anxiety attacks so he decides to visit Dr. Jennifer Melfi and begins therapy with her. During his sessions Dr. Melfi learns about his two conflicted families. Tony is stressed by his unhappy wife, rebellious kids and his demanding mother. Besides that he must handle his uncle, Junior who wants to use his friend’s restaurant as a location for killing, but Tony puts this off by burning down the whole building. On the other hand, we have Christopher Moltisanti, Tony’s nephew and representative of a Czech mob, who is pressurizing him. In the next episode, Tony’s nephew Christopher and Brendan Filone, begin hijacking trucks.

Later they find out that the truck owners pay Junior for the protection but they still continue to take money and defy Junior’s orders because they are under the influence of drugs. On the other hand, Carmela turns to Tony for a favor, in order to find A.J’s science teacher’s stolen car. Tony’s mother, who was not willing to go to the hospital, is finally moved to a nursing home, against her will. In the next episode, it’s a dinner party at the Sopranos and they hire the Buccos to cater. Tony’s daughter, Meadow is preparing for SAT and in order to stay awake at night she asks for Speed from Christopher and Brendan. But that could get them in trouble. On the other hand, Junior takes revenge from Christopher and Brendan because of their act of hijacking trucks. In the next episode, Tony is surprised when he sees Dr. Melfi in his dreams, he then asks his friend Detective Vin Makazian, to follow her. This time Christopher takes revenge from Junior and also from Mikey Palmice, because he is the one who has killed Brendan. Everyone on the gang is wondering who will be the successor of Jackie Aprile, after he dies of cancer. In the next episode, Tony and Meadow travel to Maine, in order to visit colleges, where they discuss the nature of Tony’s business. Carmela is down with flu and learns that Tony’s secret therapist is female. She then confesses the same to Father Intintola, who provides her comfort.
