This has been rumored from a long time that The Sopranos should be there on the big screen unlike the other very famous TV series. David Chase, the producer of the series has been unspoken on the topic whereas the cast members loose lipped. According to the cast members a script is on the way to the big screen.

If this is true then I am very sure that the big screen appearance of The Sopranos will be welcomed with open hands and will certainly be a big hit. But if you listen to Lorraine Bracco, then she says, “the rumor is way off the mark. I don’t think it’s that at all.”

She also adds, “I think it’s really trying to get the right script. Without the right script, it’s really not worth doing. We’ve all talked to David to give him a kick in the booty to get it right.”

Moreover The Sopranos star, Steve Van Zandt claims that all what is happening is “just rumor”.

Huh! I am confused.

I am very confused of what is right and what is not. God knows what is going to happen. Being an honest fan of The Sopranos, I wish I could see the show on the big screen and I guess all other fans of the show must have the same desire. But different statements of the stars are puzzling me.

We all know that the big screen appearance of the show Sex And The City was such a big success and it was widely appreciated as well. I am damn sure that the same will happen with The Sopranos but I don’t know why these people are afraid and don’t say anything clearly.

‘The Sopranos‘ the famous mob drama came to an end almost two years back and Edie Falco, who played the role of Carmela Soprano, wife to Tony Soprano, had been waiting for the right script in order to make her comeback on the television. And the moment she was offered the role of Nurse Jackie, in the series with the same title, she just could not say no to it.

We saw her playing to the hilt the role of Carmela Soprano, a woman who had been shown as materialistic, well organized and strong in all the six seasons of ‘The Sopranos’. Let’s hope that the she will do the same kind of justice to her new role of Nurse Jackie. But let me admit that Pilot of the series was quite promising.

‘Nurse Jackie’ will premiere on the Showtime on June 8, 2009. In this dark comedy, Edie will play the role of Nurse Jackie. She herself is a breast cancer survivor but the way she will treat her patients, is going to be the most interesting part of the series. The character that Edie will be playing has a dual personality. On one hand, she is angelic as a nurse, a wife and a mother but on the other hand, she is addicted to painkillers, commits adultery and acts as a vigilante.

The main source of laughter in the series ‘Nurse Jackie’ will come from her way of dealing with her patients in most wicked, heartbreaking and the funny manner.

When asked about how this happened, this is what Eddie had to say. “I started reading a lot of scripts after I finished The Sopranos. I thought I would know when the right script came - and that’s what happened.”

She was quite excited about her this role and further added, “I was included in conversations about production - cast and crew decisions, dialogue, etc. and have been surprised to discover that I actually have opinions about these things and have loved being part of the larger process.”

So let’s all just wait for the series to premiere and watch Edie in her completely new and exciting role.

Hey friends! It has been over a year and a half since The Sopranos has stopped airing but even now the mere mention of the classic series brings about nostalgic memories. Recently one of the mobsters from the series The Soprano was evicted from the murder charges that he was facing in his real life. Lillo Brancato, Jr. had been arrested by the New York City Police Department in Bronx on 10^th June 2005. He has been in custody since then facing the charges of second-degree murder of off duty police officer Daniel Enchautegui as well as 1st-degree attempted-burglary. While the court has found him not guilty in the first charge he has been convicted in the second charge and might face a long term imprisonment when he is sentenced in January 2009.

For those of you who don’t know, Lillo appeared in the second season of The Sopranos as mobster Matthew Bevilaqua who begs before Tony to spare his life and now he is facing a similar kind of situation in his real life only this time the man before him is a Judge. When I came across the news of his arrest I really felt sad for him. It is really strange that the actor who has been playing a mobster for most part of his acting career has come to face a situation in real life where he has in fact committed a mobster like crime and now awaits behind bars for his fate to unfold before him.

Well, now that he has gone through a very difficult phase in his life, I hope he understands the importance of always doing the right thing. He is quite lucky as he still has fans who want him back and even though he appeared in Sopranos for only a few episodes, I was really impressed by his acting talent. I really hope that he learns from his mistakes and once he is set free he takes his life more seriously as he is one of the few who get a second chance in life!!!
